Indianapolis, IN - The 2011 Marching Season came to an end for the Marching Patriots on August 5, 2011. Years from now, some may recall the placings, some may recall the scores, some may even remember the hot, humid, rainy day, but all in all, we will never forget the memories that were formed over the past 8 weeks.
The summer of 2011 has been recorded as the warmest summer in 75 years! For many groups, this could have posed a tremendous battle, but for the Patriots, this challenge was never an issue.
It is fair to say that our summer was a complete success in many ways. The band has readjusted well to the unknowns and demands of new staff members, new rehearsal techniques, and continues to build off of school year success from Indoor Percussion and our State Champion Color Guard. It is humbling to hear the many voices of community members as well as directors and members of other bands take note of the vast improvements this fine band continues to make. With continued hard-work and determination, this band will be able to continue to move mountains!
To the senior class, thank you for your years of service and dedication to the Marching Patriots. Hold onto the many memories and lifeskills you have learned because of this group. Your legacy will continue to live on through the underclassmen that you have helped form into this group.
To the underclassmen, continue to build on the experiences you have had thus far and use those to help form the future. Make everday a day that makes you a better player, marcher, and performer. Make the most of the time you have left before your time too, is past.
To the parents and Jay County community, the Marching Patriots cannot thank you enough for the endless support that you give to each and every member of this band. Without your support, we would not be able to accomplish the awesome things we are able to do year in and year out!
Finally, always remember, that WE ARE... PATRIOTS!
